Perhaps it's also ok if they never get on board? If you were a mother you would know that harm to your daughter or son is always harm and must be opposed, no matter if it is self inflicted. Love without acceptance is still love.
I agree with that sentiment now, but the mind of a young person who is hellbent on transition doesn't think like that. If parents oppose, they risk their kids walking out of their lives. It's a heart-breaking situation.
