My mum reluctantly supported my transition. She knew I was mentally unwell when I began pursuing it. She knew I was probably making a mistake. Yet, she said nothing. Why? Fear. The fear of a mother, that her vulnerable daughter would cut her off if she objected. 1/8

Thanks again, I hope you can repair your relationship. I ask because parents are talking about support groups for the siblings to help them.

I think that would be a wonderful Idea. My sister attended a support group at the gender clinic after I transitioned. She said it wasn't helpful, that she basically felt shamed for struggling, but she also said she hunted for other support groups, believing it would really help.

Can really relate to this as v similar with my son and his med transitioned sister. Sibling relationships & shared memories are so important - especially as you get older. Hope you can find a way back to that close bond with yr sister.
