Do you still have grandparents around ? I believe many people underestimate the effect on them too. I tried for a long time to hide it from them so they did not feel the same pain that I do.
All my grandparents are gone now, but my granny was alive during my transition. She was similar to my mum - she humored me and called me Sean, but she knew from the start that I was making a mistake and she told my mum just that.
I agree, one thing that your tweet highlights is that we really do care, the people we blame are not our children but those enabling this. Thanks again.
Incidentally my mum has said the same to my daughter, my dad is a little more black and white than mum, he’s not the communicator of the two :-)
