I want gender dysphoria to be recognized for what it is - a mental illness. There is absolutely no shame in that at all. Depression is a mental illness - you'd never shame a depressed person for being depressed. Gender dysphoria, as a mental illness, requires treatment. 1/3

Genuine question(s), what does trans mean (to you)? Is it an umbrella term that swings well beyond GD to include many other things from kinks to moody teenagers?

To me, trans means someone who has transitioned. I differentiate between trans people and people with gender dysphoria because many dysphoric people don't transition, and many detrans people (like me) still have dysphoria.

Very important to explore every avenue before medical treatment, nothing wrong with that. Treating people to live a happy comfortable life is the goal, with little repercussion as possible.
