In my case, it has affected my damaged spine, with degenerative disc disease. My neck is now torture making writing very painful, the waist & below have prolapsed discs. I started hormone treatment age 26, & am now 63..

A good friend of mine is an older trans woman (late 40s) and, while she still identifies as a woman, she stopped E in her early 40s due to health problems. They didn't tell her about the risks back then.

It really should be part of the *informed consent* aspect and covered in depth with each potential client before taking cross sex hormones. How can anyone give informed consent if they aren’t informing about side effects???

Here’s the kicker - they have never studied long term affects. What I listened are just ones that can be proven. In the trans community we know their is much more complications.

It's why I consider the treatment of gender dysphoric youth to be experimental. Obviously transition helps many but due to the massive surge in referrals (esp. females) it's also hurting many - they're essentially being experimented on due to a lack of research and knowledge.
