The senior management just appear to be totally ideologically captured and really committed to the idea that exploratory therapy is the same as conversion therapy. It leaves me gobsmacked.
You know the Tavistock has fucked up when your trans friends are angrier than you are. The clinic is harming trans people by immediately affirming every referral, extending waiting times for those who would actually benefit from transition & causing people to question trans care.

In the case of kids it’s never appropriate to put them in the transition path. For adults it will be fascinating how exactly they weed out the not true trans from the true trans.

This is one of the things I really dont understand. The affirmation model is the reason for the enormous waiting lists and pressures on limited services.

The actual numbers, cited in court: 161 references ror puberty blockers in 2019. That is out of 2500+ referred to the Tavistock! So only a small percentage of those who are seen ever get any blockers. "Immediate affirmation" is only a verbal thing, proven beneficial for all.
