TMI. Period pain really kicking my arse tonight. Ibuprofen and hot water bottle not helping at all. Unrelenting painful cramps, leg and back muscles haven't stopped aching, feel exhausted despite having slept through the night. Any tips would be appreciated.

Leg muscles too?! My wife takes mefenamic acid for menstrual pain bc she gets horrible back pain. It's prescription only in the UK, though. The NHS website for period pain lists stronger painkillers (Rx only tho) if you have severe pain.

If heat pads aren't working, my wife takes hot baths. It helps with some relief. If you're able to see a GP for a prescription, the stronger meds might be your best bet.https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/period-pain/ …

Oh and when it's really really bad, I avoid tampons altogether. Even when inserted correctly, sometimes I get these stabbing pains on my sides that go away once I remove the tampons. Hugs to you. Menstrual pain is awful.

Thank you <3 I'm normally fine with just painkillers and a heat source, but this is a bad one for me. Just feeling sorry for myself lmao.
