I've just worked out what gets my goat in all this mess - professional incompetence from those who should hold the bottom line.
I've thought a lot about this. Maybe they're just saying what they feel they *have to* to save their jobs, feed their families. But that experience with the councillor? He clearly took personal offence to me denying a non-binary ID, and that's a problem for everyone he "treats"
Its a serious lack of competence, unprofessional & a failure of duty of care. 'counsellors' can do a great deal of harm to people
as can teachers.
