In 2018, While still considering whether or not to detransition, I saw a councillor. I described my feelings of transition regret and his suggestion was that I may be "non-binary." He got visibility offended when I shot that idea down, and the atmosphere became tense. 1/2

This incompetence infuriates me.

My experience doesn't even compare to some of the stories other detransitioners have told me. And people wonder why we don't return to our gender clinics.

I wish there was good — non ideological — counselling available.

'my gender dysphoria'...I believe it is not yours or any part of your unique personality. GD is the result of extreme ideologies played out over malleable youth and adult who can't think for themselves. Give GD back to where it was concocted!

I have to disagree. I was disgusted with the reality of my gender/sex years before I'd even learned what "transgender" meant. Maybe it's body dysmorphia or some other issue instead, but whatever it is it started before I was introduced to any ideology.

That's outrageous! They cannot force anything on you! Glad you walked away from it.

That is interesting. I thought therapists and counsellors never show their personal reaction to something, just push you to examine all angles. Hmm
-
I mean, it seems they were steamrollering over your thoughts, perspective and interpretations of your feelings.
