Everyone is fascinated with what would happen if I go to jail: girl/boy area? How about this: I decided to transition; put me where others feel comfortable? Why should my choice make EVERYONE else uncomfortable but me! When did society allow narcissism to rule!
Still don't know exactly where I stand on the trans in prison issue. Putting a trans woman in a male prison is clearly putting her at risk. Putting a trans man in a male prison is clearly putting him at risk. Basically male prisons are unsafe for women & men that look like women

From my perspective, for what it it’s worth. There’s the same issues as self ID. It’s another aspect which can be manipulated by predators way too easily.

I’m none of these and I’m pretty sure with my lack of prison-cred it would be a dangerous place for me and many men like me. I completely get you though. I think it may come down to the “stage” of transition - the hormone/genitalia argument for TW. TM - wing of women’s prison?

They need separate wings for transwomen, they are not safe if housed with males and women inmates are in danger if they they have to share with transwomen.
