Why is it so controversial to say that teenagers, whose brains are not fully developed, should not commit to gender transition? I'm not saying they should *never* do it. Just that it's probably best to wait until they're old enough and mature enough to do it.

I acknowledge that clear difference in my tweet You asked why it's so controversial. I'm trying to help you see why why they think like they do. They've taken subjective experience of reality as the gold measure of existence. so to deny that from anyone is to deny Truth.

Let's imagine a scenario where it did require a medical procedure to be fully gay. Now, if you believe being gay is innate to that person and that it's cruel to be forced to live as not fully gay, does it matter whether the person is 14 or 16 or 18 or 24?

Again, not a perfect comparison as the rate of people who come out of the closet and then later announce themselves straight is significantly lower than the detransition rate. So it probably feels safer to say yes to the permanent, hypothetical medical procedure.
