The mystery of this era. Literally, why is this even remotely controversial.

Well it starts from one's acceptance of transgenderism as real. As in, there is something actually wrong, the person IS the other gender than as presented physically. If you believe that to be true, it would be torturous to tell that TG person to just not fully transition...
-
I realize there are medical decisions involved so it's different, but it's a bit like telling a gay person to just be closeted gay... but don't be fully gay until your mature enough to know the consequences.

I dont know. But it's very troubling. And if we dont halt it there's gonna be a lot of damaged and angry adults to contend with in the coming years

It's predicated on a strong opinion that young people who don't get to transition will hurt themselves or attempt suicide. Sure many people are attempting to make a buck off these vulnerable people or they're motivates by homophobia but well meaning people think it saves a life.
-
It's a pretty evil argument, isn't it? If it is disengenous? It strikes the heart of any compassionate person, the idea they need to intercede to save a child. It's actively help or passively kill. If the whole thing is a lie, or even a partial lie, they sure used it effectively.

It’s commonsensical and in any world save today’s it would not be controversial at all.

Because, through peer pressure to always behave as if on the cutting edge of social justice, anything that goes against the current normal is going to be crucified. I guess you can't be an ally while genuinely caring for the well-being of others.

Sad, but true. That opposing the transition of maliable and still developing teens is not seen as true social justice baffles me.

The difference between being a 15yr-old and a 25yr-old is like the difference between being a 25yr old and a 50yr old. But of course you don’t realise that at the time. We change. All the time. Transing children locks them in, as if saying, you’ll never be different to now
-
I don't disagree with you, I just wonder what the math is that made you come to those second numbers compared with the first set.
