I can't say what the global experience of being diagnosed with gender dysphoria is. I can, however, tell you what I went through for the diagnosis, and what the subsequent referral for HRT and surgery was like. 1/8

Twelve months on waiting list and not one appointment with your psychiatrist? Why wouldn’t they use the time to actually interact with you? Is that *normal*?

Maybe you and other detrans could discuss ways that might have helped you in the process from assessment to treatment to detrans and figure what you needed as clients. Specific support systems in place. I hate the word gatekeeping.

That discussion has been going on in detrans groups for a while now. Not many are comfortable going public due to the inevitable abuse they'll get, but in wee online detrans bubbles we get through it.

I would guess that resources and availability of MH professionals comes into it- don’t know if you are UK- but if so perhaps you need to write your MP or some politician and see if they will take it up? Of course changes and improvements take a long time.
