Regarding the pronoun thing, I don't care. If Eddie Izzard was sitting with me, I'd use "she" pronouns to be polite. But that doesn't mean Eddie Izzard is a woman Eddie is male. I'm perfectly willing to be courteous in social situations but will not ignore biological reality

I dont think its polite that he should require it.
I don't think it's required. If anyone else wants to use male pronouns for Eddie, that's their call to make and they shouldn't be shamed for it.
