11/ Okay Lavery almost certainly didn't read this. The judgment (in at least 3 places): This case isn't about Keira Bell or any one case; it's about one particular medical practice. Lavery: Bell's situation is "the case [the court] sought to address."pic.twitter.com/8xPp2OKCjz

12/ It would be basically impossible to make these errors if Lavery had read the document or understood what it was. It is a judicial review, not a decision on a lawsuit.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judicial_review_in_English_law …

14/Another major error that more or less proves, without a shadow of a doubt, that Lavery didn't read the ruling. Her FIRST SENTENCE originally read that the ruling said that "no children under the age of 16 can meet the standard for informed consent," which is completely false;pic.twitter.com/SjntI8P6SV

15/ the ruling is quite explicit on this that *some* under-16s can. So Foreign Policy *stealth-edited an error in the very first sentence of a piece that badly misrepresents the subject of that piece.* Is this standard practice?pic.twitter.com/lvpUMZBuJ0

16/ Another error: Lavery writes that Keira Bell went on Lupron. But Lupron isn't usually used by the NHS to block puberty, as a gov document shows. And a testimonial from Bell confirms she used a different drug. This, like everything else, should be corrected.pic.twitter.com/jN7k4iZaua

17/ It may be the case that I've seen an article with this many factual errors in a mainstream outlet, but I don't think I can remember any such instance.

@BeijingPalmer Your outlet printed, in the first sentence of this article, a completely fabricated claim about the court ruling at issue here. Then you guys stealth edited it so that readers would be unaware of the error. Is this standard editorial practice? Why no correction?pic.twitter.com/kXuLJWUqyN

The court’s decision in Bell v. Tavistock is a major achievement for the gender critical position and a disaster for both LGBT children and their families. >>What do LGBs have to do with the court's decision?

I have to respectfully disagree. I've spoken to many detransitioners who are gay or bisexual, and say their struggle with accepting their sexualities and gender nonconformity contributed to their now regretted transition.

I think the first part is a quote. It's what Lavery suggests. He disagrees.

Yes the first part is a quote. Pointing out that use of “LGBT” as a single community with commonly held issues and concerns actually obscures what is actually being addressed, how and why and the fact that what might benefit T actually hurts LGB. And is a form of manipulation.
