How do detransitioners feel about the idea of a "detrans community"? While I think it's incredibly important for detrans folk to feel like they have others like themselves to turn to, I'll confess I have a small gripe with the term "community" across the board. 1/2

I reject the concept of identity entirely. I'm woman because I am female, and I am "detrans" because I detransitioned, so these words accurately decribe me. When people look at "detrans" through the lens of "identity" it can actually discourage them from detransitioning...

I tend to tell people who are just starting detransition to check out the subreddit and avoid Twitter. The less politics that are involved in the conversation, the better.

I’m enjoying reading this convo - I am curious about how important identity seems to become and would like to understand more.
