Thank you, this is such valuable insight. I imagine I know the answer but I'm curious to know what you think of this new law they're trying to push through in Canada (similar ones elsewhere) that would make this kind of counseling vulnerable to a label of "conversion therapy"
Any law that would deem compassionate and honest counselling conversion therapy is incredibly dangerous & will result in the harm of the very people said law wants to protect As irreversible changes are inevitable with transition, therapists *must* be able to be honest about it
I'm stunned at some things I read from people who have transitioned. One was surprised that gay men weren't interested in dating them because they still had a vagina. How do you get as far as transitioning without taking this reality into account?
