There are several "camps" in the "detrans community." One: "I don't want my experience to be used to hurt trans people." That's understandable. But people need to stop setting themselves on fire to keep others warm. Your experiences don't hurt others; they help those like you.

What would others older feminists, lesbians, professional organisations in the caring fields be doing / saying so that young detrans people who feel as if they are betraying their erstwhile community don't sell themselves short like this?

I understand that for many the community of transmen will be one they don't feel they can afford to lose and the broader community of young people who understand the issues will also be antagonistic.
