Intrusive memories can be a sign of PTSD. Drinking to cope also goes with that. I do wonder at the long term mental health issues many face as a result of detransitioning. As the medics says "Repeated surgical insult" can have a long term impact all of its own.

My detransitioners suffer from PTSD and substance abuse, but I'm fortunate to not be among them. Hopefully our doctors soon realise that treating gender dysphoria doesn't need to include medical transition.

I've always found that drinking tends to exaggerate the mood I was in when I started drinking. Thus the reason I never drink when I'm sad.

So sorry, I'm lucky to have regained some sensitivity in my chest but it's nothing like before, I also lost a lot around my thighs near SRS scars. I can relate to ridiculous medical practitioners, my GIC doctor tried to suggest I wasn't female anymore. My thoughts are with you

I hope you're taking care of yourself. I'm here if you ever need to vent.
