Trans & detrans, how did the kids in your life react to the change? My nephews remember me pre-transition but my niece only knew uncle Sean and she's devastated he's "gone." I've said I'm the same person, she doesn't have to call me aunt etc. but she just wants her uncle back.

That must be hard at both ends. Sounds as if that’s something that other detransitioners may also be dealing with. I genuinely had not thought about it. I’ve considered how to deal with it if my son goes ahead but only for older relatives. For kids? On transition/ Detransition?
Some say "kids shouldn't be exposed to that" but that's not realistic. I spend time with my sister's kids, they're going to notice the changes. And parents who transition/detransition are with their kids. We need to talk about these uncomfortable things because they're happening.

Yes. I agree. I will be keen for my one to explain that he doesn’t literally change sex. If he is honest about that I will have better confidence he will be realistic and aware of the risks.
