Many parents who consent to blockers for their kids are unfairly vilified. I don't think most people understand how much pressure they're under, not just from being told their kid may kill themselves, but also from being attacked as abusive and transphobic should they hesitate.

I'm sure this is true for some parents, and probably for most whose children self identify as "trans" during puberty, following exposure to social contagion, but I have observed blatant Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy or grooming behaviors from mothers with younger "trans" children.

Witnessing this, as a mother to a young child myself, is one of the main things that made me decide to start talking openly about my detransition last year, but because it falls outside of the realm of my "direct" experience, I don't really know how to address it.

I have been disappointed to see how many voices speaking out against the ROGD tsunami not only ignore this, but (to position themselves as "moderates") specifically state that they view the smaller percentage of children who are IDd as "trans" before puberty as "legitimate".

I didn't like Dr Goals article, mainly due to how he chose to write it. But I agree, the point he's trying to make is important and deserves more attention.

Aren't many of the parents who are enthusiastic about it mostly likely homophobic? They are deciding that 2 and 5 year-olds are trans now.

Not necessarily. Some of them are avid LGBTQIAETC activist's, and supporting a trans kid is more admirable than supporting a gay kid. If something else comes along, they'll take that up.

Yes, but don't you think they are both? I agree, I think they want to be seen as supporting the right cause but also that they are homophobic (and have sexist ideas about what boys and girls should be).
