I don't understand why @Transgendertrd gets smeared like that. Any group seeking the ethical review of medical intervention on children are clearly on the right side of history.

Denying kids the right to access confidential information is pretty bigoted.

Tom added,
TransgenderTrend @TransgendertrdNo organisation should be encouraging children to hide their internet viewing from their parents. No children's charity should be undermining parents & assisting children to go behind their backs. Especially at this time. What advice to children do you need to hide from parents? pic.twitter.com/0bazIDWlGP1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

You must understand why there is fear around Mermaids, though? A mother forced her son to live as a girl after contacting them, it ended up in court, where a judge told the mother that her kid was to 'have no more contact' with Mermaids. They're an extremely shady charity.

They are a fully regulated charity, with legally compliant policies. The tweet transgender trend sent was a universal condemnation of child confidentiality. Do you think that is appropriate?

Sure, just breeze right past what I said and ignore Mermaids hand in what that woman did to her son. No, I don't agree with their universal condemnation.

I can't speak to that specific case, but given that TT is extremist, and arguably transphobic and homophobic (on the basis of denying gay kids confidential info) it seems appropriate to describe them as such

Give me one example of them being phobic? Children cannot consent to things with serious long-term consequences. These treatments can effect sexual function, can cause life-long dependence on HRT and can permanently alter and sterilize them. TT are right to urge for caution.

The tweet I showed you? Saying that trans and by implication gay kids should not be able to access confidential advice without parental knowledge is to gravely injure gay and trans kids. Confidential advice is vital for LGBT kids

That is not phobic. I disagree with them here, but understand their point. They're saying children shouldn't be encouraged online to keep things from their parents. Many, maybe most parents would agree with that. Nothing bigoted there.
