Parents of dysphoric kids don't receive enough support. Many gender clinics immediately affirm without investigating potential causes. Despite this parents are told to consider blockers/eventual HRT or their kid may commit suicide without them. Imagine that was you. Your kid.

I thought they were going to take my kid away. I was really terrified. I’m somewhat calmer now. If they want to drag me to family court, they can, but I’m not going to sign off on testosterone knowing what I know about the harms it can cause.

I don’t know. I have people around me who agree that transitioning a teenager is nuts, and that I’m not nuts, which helps. but anyone willing to go to bat for me? I don’t know. I spoke to my state rep for a long time and she said she would stick up for me if DCYF comes after me.

Also the neuropsych doctor who is himself a transgender man said he would vouch for me in court. He does not believe my daughter is transgender but possibly autistic. He said all of her explanations as to why she is trans had to do with OTHER people.
