Do you mind me asking how your family felt about you transitioning? I’m interested in how people end up going down this path.
They pretty much said "do what you have to do, either way, we're here." Except my dad, who refused to refer to me as his son (though he also said he'd always be there for me). It wasn't until I began detransition that I found out they'd all been silently grieving the whole time.

Thank you, things are going as well as they can. And Mermaids? They're a disgrace and should be kept away from dysphoric youth.
What advice do you have for parents of girls sucked into this? Interested party! However prob not a fair question.
It's a difficult question but one I'm asked often. My general awnser is, neither affirm not dismiss. Try to find a neutral therapist who can get to the bottom of it without pushing transition on to them.
