I disagree this language works just fine. I am a transsexual. Are you?

Replying to @BuckAngel @CanalCorpoCerto
I think the disagreement is found in how we actually define 'live as,' as this is the exact point of contention.
@CanalCorpoCerto can elaborate on their perspective. I'm new to all this language, so my apologies if I miss the mark.2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -
If it were impossible, no one would be medically transitioning to live as the opposite sex.

I’m well aware that my sex can not be changed to become some biological male. But characteristics do change and are the reason WHY I can live as the opposite sex. Or gender if you prefer that.

I’d sound really stupid saying that my secondary gender characteristics changed. No one says that but okay. I dont see why you can’t recognize that things change for us and at the same time realize that we also acknowledge we aren’t biological males.

Depends on what both of you mean by 'live as.'

If I may elbow my way in here, when I was trans I phrased it, "socially and legally I'm a man, though biologically I'll always be female." When you're socially perceived as the opposite sex for years, you "live as" that sex. Passing trans men are treated as men, seen as men etc.

That’s a great way to describe it and a good distinction. Thanks Watson :D
