Uncomfortable topic time: Restarting T and Retransition I doubt I could ever restart T, not after how far I've come. But I'd be lying if I said the desire never popped into my head. And I'm not the only detrans woman to contemplate it. 1/5
But, "just because you're a little different from other women doesn't mean you're not a woman." I know. But detrans women aren't "a little" different from other women. When you're balding, bearded, boobless, with a man voice and Adams apple, you're very different from them. 2/5
Speaking to those who restart T, I get it. I don't agree with them but I do understand them. 2 things: 1 They regret transitioning, but the T changed them so much they feel detransition is pointless. 2 They got no help. Untreated dysphoria = a surge in desire to restart T. 3/5
Dysphoria is a mental illness and requires treatment. Transition may help some people but it evidently doesn't help them all. Lack of alternative treatment creates more detrans folk, lack of help creates more retrans folk, lengthening clinic wait lists, harming trans folk. 4/5
I'd like to see trans activists and allies, who care about dysphoric youth, bringing attention to this issue. There should NOT be detrans people, who regret transitioning, turning to HRT because their untreated dysphoria is consuming them. 5/5

To be honest, I have thought about "retransitioning" many times over the past 10 years, sometimes triggered by my inability to "pass" as female well enough to be attractive to heterosexual men.
Over the past few years, the gaslighting from "woke" trans "allies" insisting "once trans, always trans" and pressuring me to identify as "non-binary" got louder and louder.
Look after yourself, Darling. Your journey has been rocky & lonely. You have travelled to unexplored places & still have a long road ahead. But you are not alone, the more people who hear your story, the better it will be for others who might be lured along that path. Be strong.
