Blows my mind that there are people - medical professionals - who endorse affirmation for dysphoric people *prior* to councilling. Affirmation only helps those who go on to benefit from transition. How d'you know someone will benefit from it if they haven't had councilling yet?

It is beyond my understanding. My introduction to the whole gender identity debate began here. Utterly baffled, to this day, at this irresponsible and seemingly casual approach. Mental health concerns seem to be a thing of the past. “First, do no harm” - out the window.
