2. There's genuine gender dysphoria that, for some reason, is not alliviated by transition - or worse yet, exacerbated by medical transition. Why does transition help some but harm others with the same condition?

The referrers are misusing services and valuable resources. An ongoing assessment period would probably reveal lots of red flags in other areas. That’s why it’s so important to work with the family and any other agencies. Information from a variety of perspectives is essential.
This is an important dimension to all of this, lots of "transtrenders." Again, it is difficult to separate kids who are really suffering from those just doing it for acceptance. When I was young, being "punk" was cool, now it's claiming to be trans for a lot of kids. 1/

All good points, Watson. I also believe that many of these teens honestly believe they have gender dysphoria because the descriptions of the experience are so broad & amorphous that they can convince themselves they have it.
This is the group for which l have most concern in terms of their well being. They have their whole lives ahead of them which they are jeopardising in order to "be in with the in crowd". Yes, they regurgitate the scripts that result in what they are groomed to want.
