Why are more trans women coming out in prison than trans men? When in the outside world more women are becoming men? Please answer with grace and not name calling please.

Because a trans woman coming out in prison grants them access to a safer prison, whereas a trans man coming out in prison paints a massive target on their back.

And lots of fun perks, like being searched by the guards of your choice, not having to go in dangerous men’s showers, etc

Not in most prisons Id love to hear some of the lots of perks you mentioned.Getting any added support in prison eg,underwear or wax makes it hard as it looks as favours to the other's,causes jealousy and worse. It always helps if you're incarcerated with others already there

Interestingly, I believe FTM are not being placed in the men's estate, because of the risks to the trans prisoners posed by the men already there... however we are asked to accept that those same men can self-id away the risk that they pose...

Prison policymakers, and there policies are always changing turnover is constant,leaving life in prison with not a very stable or safe state of management.Alot is as you go and who will do.tasks for trans or Wont.Risk is ex.High in this environment.Policies aren't working!

Based on what knowledge? All gender non-conforming people see increased dangers in already dangerous prisons. Prisons enforce strict gender rolls to all.https://captivegenders.net/
