But woman and man are also categories. When you say 'transwomen are transwomen', do you mean they are neither men nor women?
They're men in the sense they're male, but it's complicated - if you say "that man over there" and indicate to a passing transwomen, you'd just confuse people. Transwomen are males who "live as" women, but they're not women, they just appear that way due to modification.

Appearances are how we get through life. We almost instantly identify someone as a man or a woman. If a TW passes then she is identified as a woman. So I also consider her to be a woman in most situations although not all.

Even if perceived as a woman, a male is always a male.

No, they don't "appear that way" to anyone but themselves; they wish they were women, but they are men, pretending to be women. Not complicated at all. If you say "that man over there" & I see a man in a dress, I still see a MAN, in a dress. Not a woman.
