The saddest part of this is other detrans. I'm fine to refer to myself as such. I've accepted my situation. But the messages I get are so sad. I'm not saying don't message me, please do so we can talk through it, I'm saying most have no idea how many have been hurt by this.

Can I ask you to estimate how many detrans individuals you have encountered in the last year? A popular argument to dismiss these concerns is that there is nobody counting the numbers of destransitioners. Perhaps a grass roots count will facilitate a proper study.
I'm currently going through all my messages and counting, I'll tweet the final figure when I have it. But dozens and dozens.

The biggest protective factor in the U.K. is the huge waiting list for GIDS. Many kids who id as trans will desist before ever getting near the medics if their pre existing trauma is acknowledged and treated. As parents we have to hold the line - but it is very very hard.
