When I described how I’d been “living as a man” to the gender clinic, I described wearing men’s clothes. That seemed to be sufficient enough.

This is a red herring imo. The current requirement is purely documentary. There are a lot of strawmen arguments in the reform proposal. Ultimately, proponents don't want cliniicians to have to agree their self-diagnosis.
