People ask “why did you transition?” For the same reason *every* trans person does – I was certain it would help me. I didn’t know I was wrong. I assumed if I was wrong, the gender clinic would realise that. Evidently, they agreed I was doing what was best. That’s the problem.
I saw counsellors/psychiatrists pre-transition, including a stay on a psychiatric ward. I was clearly unwell. They said “stop drinking and you’ll be fine.” I drank to numb my issues – it didn’t cause said issues. I was ignored, and I'm hurt by the mental health field for that.

What’s interesting is that for organ transplants patients have to be “clean” no active alcoholism/drug abuse. And here they were willing to alter your body without getting you to stay dry to take care of yourself. That is medical abuse or neglect. Not good patient care at all.
