The current system requires clinicians letters x2, plus two years of documentary evidence. It's hard to demonstrate 'living in acquired gender' in practice.

I'm currently transitioning (in England). The system is borked because getting the clinicians' letter is, in practice, very slow. The documentary evidence is trivial - deed poll -> driving license -> all other docs. 1/2
I wish you well with your transition. I transitioned in Scotland. It took me a little under year and a half to get HRT, mostly due to the year long waiting period. That was back in 2014/15. I believe the waiting period is much longer these days.

Thank you Watson. It took me 15 months (in Wales), but moving to England means restarting the gatekeeping process, with the current wait list in the SW of ~3 years for first appointment and HT ~18 months thereafter. Scotland is ~22 months for 1st appt iirc.
