The long-term psychological effect of social transition/puberty blockers on kids is unknown. What we do know is that most kids outgrow gender dysphoria. Current treatment has no long-term follow-up studies, thus, it is not evidence based. In short, these kids are guinea pigs.

I had chest dysphoria pre-HRT but it was managable. Once I'd been on T for about 6 months, my chest dysphoria became so bad I had to fight urges to harm myself there.

T seems to be really bad for young people's mental health and self esteem, and for kids who are already feeling anxious and out of place... .it's probably the worst thing to give them.
