I’m on the same page. I think of it like when I went to a funeral once of a man who had been very religious. There was lots of praying & bowed my head out of respect for the service . I did not close my eyes but I sat quietly. You can be respectful & not participate.
This is a good analogy. I was at two catholic funerals last year. Everyone knows I’m quite anti-religion, but in certain situations I’m perfectly happy to bow my head and be respectful, even though I don’t support the beliefs the people around me have.
