Family members telling me they “always felt” my decision to transition was a mistake. I ask “why didn’t you say anything back then?” They reply “we didn’t want to upset you.” Please, upset me. If you have concerns about someone you love – talk to them about it. It might help.

It is a common trope that families reject their trans kids. My real life experience, sadly, is that teens girls who transition reject their families. This demographic of trans is fueled by rebellion and self-loathing. Desperately sad. 2/

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. It is a very sad state of affairs, and both the kids and their families suffer for it.
