I’m out as far as my personal life goes. But I don’t socialize much outside of my family. I have no problem being open about my detrans status with anyone. But I do try to keep my public self under wraps because I have a kid. If not I would be more public .
I’m struck by two feelings. The first is the desire to remain anonymous and avoid negative attention. The other is the desire to go public and speak openly for other detransitioners. I wish every time I spoke to a detrans person, they didn’t say “I’d come out but-“

Same, all my family and friends know I’m a detransitioner. I don’t have a kid to worry about, though. But I see the abuse and threats open detrans folk get and I think “fuck that.” But then, I still wish more detransitioners were open. My own hypocrisy laid bare.

I fully understand a desire for the protection of anonymity. Having to expose your identity to others is a price that should not ever need to be paid to put out your story. I wish you & your compatriots whether transitioning or not all the best for your hopes and futures.
