If you think reality is wrong how can you be of sound mind? We don't operate on BDD patients because they are not of sound mind, regardless of what the patient thinks.
I'm glad to see more detransitioners think transition should remain an option. While I have strong opinions about transition due to my own experiances, I do think adults who are sound of mind should have the option to transition if they wish.

Not all dysphoric people insist they're the sex they wish they were. I know transmen who accept the reality that they are female – but they feel more comfortable living socially/legally as men. They''re sound of mind, unlike those who literally believe transition makes them male
