Between 2012-2014 I had multiple mental breaks downs. One put me in hospital for a night, another on a psychiatric ward for a week. I was very mentally unwell. In 2015, the gender clinic saw me as mentally sound enough to deem myself in need of transition. I got HRT that June.

Can you say more about how your assessment was done in the UK?
First appointment was general information gathering. I spoke about my family, my childhood, the fact I was a tomboy etc. Second appointment, I spoke about my desire to transition. The issues I had with my body etc. Third appointment, I was weighed and had bloodwork done.

It doesn't sound like anyone tried to make a differential diagnosis. Where did the idea to transition come from?
