I’ll never understand why some trans activists/allies get so defensive and hostile when it comes to detransitioners and #detrans discussion.

#Detransition exists, whether you like it or not. And we deserve a voice just as much as you do.

I’ve never seen defensive or hostile behaviour towards the tiny number of actual detransitioners purely because they’re detrans. However, when those people use their experience to invalidate and try to limit treatment for trans people, then they’ll get the reaction they deserve.

Most people feel nothing buy sympathy for detransitioners, in the same way that a decent person would feel nothing but sympathy for anyone who regretted an abortion. However, neither group add anything to the discussion on what medical treatment others should be offered.
