If someone (over the age of 18) goes to their GP and asks for Hormonal treatment (not surgery) what processes will they have to go through to get access to those sorts of drugs?

I was referred to the gender clinic and was seen after a 1 year wait (no counselling during that time). Between being seen for the first time and being prescribed T, 4 months past. I was seen a total of 3 times. No alternatives to transition were presented.

I'd just turned 23 when I was reffered, so not as young as some of the kids being reffered today.
