          Yeah, this is wild. Thanksgiving isn’t a religious holiday, and even if it was, any cultures I’m aware of that practice fasting exempt children (as well as the elderly and people who are medically unable to fast). Because forcing children to fast is ABUSE.

          They’re probably mormon. I was made to fast once a month starting at 8 and fasting before thanksgiving is a thing I know a few mormon families do.
