I try to trick @internetarchive and @archiveis into archiving the AMP URL:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/pilotonline.com/opinion/columnist/guest/article_a7c5f856-ad9b-11e9-addb-4f2eee04027f.amp.html …
but no luck. Clicking on the link in this tweet from your mobile device *should* work (for now).

here are the results of trying to get the archives to grab the AMP URL; google redirects them to the Va Pilot version. (note the IA version from the redirect is not archived as well as thepic.twitter.com/hwNnwJOYMw

using Safari w/ the user-agent set to "iphone" I repeat the search. note the lighting bolt on the first hit. clicking on that gives the AMP article, still 200. Clicking on the linked title goes to the Va Pilot site, with a 404 response.pic.twitter.com/vVmmuH2iNL

Normally two URLs for a page is bad but in this case it works for me: * the AMP URL is 200 (for now) * the Va Pilot URL is 404 (for now?) so which do I link to in my proposal? AMP, and hope the reviewers are reading on an iphone? or count on no one clicking footnote URLs? ;-)

I'm unsure of how to *publicly* archive this URL that effectively does content negotiation on the "User-Agent" HTTP request header. I don't think
@webrecorder_io currently allows "iphone" as a browser option? Future option?1 reply 1 proslijeđeni tweet 1 korisnik označava da mu se sviđaPrikaži ovu nit -
Summary: We've known for a while that web archive and AMP interaction is a problem, but this is my first experience where it went from theoretical to real. Also, I think I'll link the AMP URL. ;-)

As per
@webrecorder_io, "Please note: Webrecorder doesn't currently support mobile devices." I am experimenting with some other options to see what can be done. One potential possibility is to use WARCreate locally and upload the WARC in Webrecorder.pic.twitter.com/HxRGOSKoHQ

When I try to spoof the user-agent and dimensions to a mobile device, I get the AMP container, but the content area is blank unfortunately.

I'd recommend trying the device emulation settings in a remote browser (Chrome 76), that should likely work and capture mobile version. We've experimented with pre-configuring those options and having a Chrome container that loads with device emulation enabled.

Thanks Ilya, I tried that option too, which loads the AMP frame, but the content is empty or not loaded properly.

A bit tricky to setup (devtools must be open and in the background) to capture. But, can then view replay in desktop browser as well:pic.twitter.com/DRBhsB1XyH
