The ones that you don't want to travel will anyway find a way with their Cyprus passports. The ones you will punish are those who might be interested in a view outside Russia's borders. Students. Families. Etc. So no, bad idea. Strange tweet from what are usually sharp takes.
Maybe there should be a "time out" for any and I mean *any* visits from Russia. Up to the invasion of Crimea these people were arrogantly demanding visa-free travel with the EU. Just freeze visas except for family emergencies. It is Europe's security at stake. Enough.

The liberal democratic West so demonized in Russia eventually will defend itself. This will happen in some form or another. Bad idea, yes. Bad for Russians, yes. But with Russia's behavior, ineluctable. The West also has "students, families, etc" Just stop killing them.
