Violence only begets violence. More force is only going to lead to more lives lost and more devastation. We must prioritize the safety of our community. We can rebuild, but we cannot bring back lives.
We should and must protest peacefully. But let us end the cycle of violence now.
The people rioting, looting and acting violent have no care or concern about someone dying at the hands of police. They are opportunists, using this situation for their own purposes. If they really cared about him they would take action in a legal way which gives them credibility
But the fact they have that attitude is a symptom of a system that failed to protect them. They have no regard for law and order because it’s never been there on their behalf. It’s only been there to oppress them. Anger and disregarded for others is a symptom of all this.
That cycle of violence ends when the police are abolished
