Our board member Nicole Systrom makes the case for why need to support innovation while (not after) they learn more about climate science and how the changing climate will impact us all. There's no time to wait. ⌛️

Done right OKRs can be a great guide for teams. But they are 1) too heavy for start-ups, and 2) missing connection to purpose. We've tried to change that here. A Modern Guide to Lean OKRs , , , , ,

The full blog post on Microsoft's carbon negative plan is required reading. This sets a new, much higher bar for the scope of their plan and the thought and detail behind it.

Love this sentiment. Tons to be gained if we can truly institutionalize entrepreneurial research. Glad to hear some shouting from across the pond in harmony with ours from and now

What we need to work on: - reconstituting speculative and decadal R&D within industry - restitching socioeconomic interdependence and the social fabric - reviving a culture of "self-Interest rightly understood" (de Tocqueville 1835)

To be clear, it's not Si Valley and VC that are failing us -- what's deteriorated are foundational educational, social, and research pillars that would otherwise allow VC and innovators to tackle hard tech and that would compel tech to better orient toward serving society.

It's been inspiring to help pivot from tech entrepreneur to climate warrior. If you're "climate curious," few better ways to come up to speed than joining Jason on his climate journey. In ep. 60, I break down the origins of and ...enjoy!

World-class research used to be carried out by folks with strong incentives to develop products. We have 10x MORE research funding now than fifty years ago, but probably 10x LESS of that crossover. This is one of the most critical & overlooked issues in science policy today.

Key line: "We’ve moved from an economy where big firms did both scientific R&D toward one with a starker division of labor, where corporations specialize in development, and universities specialize in research." & similar initiatives key to fixing this! cc
