Witchwood, Boomsday, and Rastakhan's all rotating soon. Crazy to think it was around this time two years ago when Witchwood released, time flies. I still remember so much about the development of each of those sets, lots of my favorite cards and cards we learned a lot from.
Boomsday was probably my favorite set of the three. Many memories playtesting and iterating on Magnetic. It was called Modular until pretty late in the development before we made some functional changes that made it a lot cleaner. UI, Art, FX were huge in making that happen.
My favorite card was Dire Frenzy, I put it in a lot of decks that it didn't deserve to be in. Building beast decks with it and Master's Call made for a lot of interesting setup moments. It took until the last few weeks of the year, but it finally became the best deck in the meta
Most powerful cards we ended up changing: 1. Giggling Inventor 2. Baku 3. Genn Giggling and Corridor Creeper are the two biggest "wait why did we do that" in recent memory. It happens!
Most powerful cards we never changed: 1. Town Crier 2. SN1P-SN4P 3. Zilliax People rarely talk about Town Crier but it's a more powerful piece in Warrior than Zilliax is in any deck by a fair margin. Warriors will miss the little fellow.
Best Decks in first week Year of the Raven: 1. Cube Warlock 2. Tempo Druid 3. Quest Rogue Playing a familiar deck in the first week is pretty successful usually!
Best Decks in last week Year of the Raven: 1. Mid-Range Hunter 2. Odd Warrior 3. Aggro Rogue I love Beast Hunter! Odd Warrior... not as much.
Best Decks in a Single Week Period: 1. Odd Paladin (57.4% R5-L) 2. Even Paladin (56.6% R5-L) 3. Odd Warrior (56.2% R5-L) Genn and Baku were pretty good I suppose...
Best Deck of the Year Award: 1. Even Paladin (Not Close) 2. Odd Paladin 3. Mid-Range Hunter Even Paladin was CRIMINALLY underplayed all year. It was the best deck in over half the weeks but very rarely the most played.
