Nice piece. I was a self-styled radical and proto-SJW in the early ‘90s. Much of what you say rings true. So many good people with good intentions caught up in counterproductive radicalism. Society could use their empathy and intelligence. Huge loss.

This is fantastic. It seems just about everyone could learn a lot from this. Thanks for writing it. It’s also nice to see someone feeling they’reon a better path. Nice job!

You killed it. Thanks for the insight into a world most people will never see or know (much less try to understand or empathize with)

Interesting, esp the passage below. I’ve noticed a lot of the most prominent radicals in Toronto are LGBT people from religiously conservative households. I think being rejected from a religious home/community may lead people to seek a new religion in the form of radicalism.pic.twitter.com/pU6vv4R7JV

Yup, this plus the following paragraph ring true to me

Interesting take. I can definitely believe that radicalism has become a religion for some, and like most extremism, it uses unhealthy means to keep people on its path

I feel like one aspect that interests me is in the age breakdown. Seems like the "society isn't for me" mindset won't work as you get older and you get more invested, either through an actual career or lack thereof, and associated financial states

Great piece over at Quillette. A lot us "pagans" have vaguely viewed social justice radicalism as a pseudo religion, but you laid out very well just why it looks so much like one. Well done.
