International societies should meet where all nationalities can attend. Icelandic Vision Lab's principal investigators will therefore not attend VSS 2020 conference in FL. RTs appreciated.

Calling all scientists with relevant domain experience. There are 313 results on for "coronavirus" right now. Almost none of them have attached reviews. Let's fix that by Monday morning. Who's with me?

Day of joy! Our paper is finally out where we show a way to measure olfactory bulb signal in humans using EEG electrodes. Fantastic work mostly by but also & Don Wilson. Let me break down the main findings 1/4

Scary stuff, but this ultimately is the story of a good scientist going some good science-ing. Don't kid yourself that this couldn't (or, indeed, hasn't) happen to you

We have a new version of this preprint. The toolkit now has better instructions on how to render face stimuli using Python code (e.g., from within Psychopy), and improved models for happiness and disgust:

VERY important paper from Logothetis' group just posted on about decoding consciousness in PFC in monkeys during a no-report paradigm. VERY critical data for current debates in awareness.

How are human face-sensitive areas structurally connected and functionally interacted? Our new work now @NatureHumanBehav elucidates the connectome-basis of face processing.

fantastic new EEG/ET paper by tldr: Run your ICA at 2Hz (passband) to remove eyemovement artefacts. Boost correction by concatenating spike potentials! The definitive guide to ET/EEG ICA eye-artefact correction.

Layer-fMRI paper from earlier this month: Remi Gau aims high and tries to investigate two neuroscience concepts at once. Attention and multisensory integration effects are teased apart by means of 6 task conditions in 4 areas! Wow

Boundary extension is not universal - contractions are actually more common for scenes. These transformations are predictable by image properties, and happen even in a perceptual task. New paper by me and now out in :

This fits a pattern noted by Farah where many cases of acquired deficits in visual imagery involved people whose activities had likely demanded visualization. Individual differences in premorbid ability for imagery might play a role in the effects of stroke on these abilities.
